Yasmeen Suri – Testimony of Indian Born Singer from USA

Yasmeen Suri is a beautiful, young and talented singer living in the USA. Her music and talent has brought her among the few top Christian singers in the country. She is a trained vocalist from Clark Conservatory in Detroit MI. She has been invited by the Detroit Tigers, the Home Land Security and many other top organizations to sing the national Anthem of America on various occasions.

When Yasmeen was 5 years old, her parents migrated from Punjab, India to USA. The family belonged to the Sikh religion. Being ethnically different from others, Yasmeen often faced cruel jokes and much verbal and mental harassment in her school and among her peers. As she grew up, she found herself into occult and witch craft practices, to overcome loneliness, rejection. She practiced transcendental meditation, talking to spirits, crystals and many other such practices.  The more she engaged herself into occult, the more she felt empty inside. She was seeking the purpose and meaning in her life.

One day, she was taken by surprise, when her friend gifted her Bible on her birthday. Her friend showed Deuteronomy 18:9-14 from the Bible and read it to her.

“When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there.  Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.  Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you.  You must be blameless before the LORD your God.  The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the LORD your God has not permitted you to do so.” – Deuteronomy 18: 9-14

These verses became so real and she was convicted to the core of all her sins for the first time. This was the beginning of a new life in Jesus Christ and today she is a living testimony of God’s miraculous works and power. She sings for God now and shares her testimony to the world.
